“The Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Angola (FDUCAN) has as its mission the production and transfer of knowledge in the legal field, both in teaching and in research and in the provision of services to the community, in accordance with freedom of thought, quality , transparency and scientific rigor, ethical responsibility in the context of Christian values.
In terms of teaching, FDUCAN is dedicated to offering training in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles, in accordance with the standards of scientific knowledge required at these levels, based on pedagogical practices appropriate to the national context and of an increasingly globalized world. more competitive, multidisciplinary and interactive. FDUCAN always has in mind the promotion of activities that allow access and enjoyment of cultural goods by all people and groups, internal and external to the Faculty.
As for research, FDUCAN seeks and promotes research that is integrated and aligned with the parameters followed in the most renowned international higher education institutions, for which it requires and proposes a culture of mobility, interaction, exchange of its researchers with those from other latitudes , as well as ensuring better articulation between the research carried out within its centres, the Law Research Center (CID) and the Center for Human Rights and Citizenship (CDHC), with the needs expressed by society and appropriate financial support. To this extent, FDUCAN has research programs in partnership with other institutions, namely those from European and American countries and those from African countries where Portuguese is the official language.
FDUCAN seeks to ensure that teaching and research in law and its social commitment correspond to the challenges of contemporary societies. The commitment of this Faculty is to reinforce all its strategies in terms of teaching, research and its internationalization in order to position itself in the top positions of the ranking, at least in terms of Africa.
Thus, FDUCAN assumes responsibility for the staff it intends to place on the market – staff with technical, scientific skills, up to the great legal challenges, staff with professional ethical training.
